INTRODUCTION

TheWell-App ("we," "us," or "our") is a Christian faith-based dating application and community platform designed to connect individuals who share a common faith and values. We operate in the United States, with a principal user base in the State of Michigan, and we distribute our application through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Our registered offices are located in Michigan.

We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. We recognize that using a dating app — particularly one centered on faith, romantic relationships, and personal values — requires you to trust us with some of the most sensitive and personal information about yourself. That trust is not something we take lightly.

Dating apps collect uniquely sensitive data. In addition to the kinds of personal information collected by most online services (such as your name and email address), TheWell-App collects information about your religious beliefs and practices, your denomination and church community, your relationship goals, and your personal values and lifestyle. This type of information is recognized as a special category of sensitive personal information under many privacy frameworks, and we treat it accordingly — with heightened protections, strict access controls, and a firm policy against selling or sharing it for advertising purposes.

Faith-related information, in particular, is treated with the highest level of care we can provide. We do not require you to disclose specific doctrinal beliefs, and we will never use your faith information to target you with third-party advertising or share it with data brokers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have with respect to your personal data. It applies to your use of the TheWell-App mobile application, website, and all in-person events we organize. Please read this document carefully. It is intended to be formal and legally sound, while remaining clear and accessible to everyday users.

This Privacy Policy is a companion document to our Terms and Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined herein carry the meaning given to them in the Terms and Conditions. By using TheWell-App, you agree to both documents.

SECTION 1 — INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in three primary ways: information you provide to us directly, information we collect automatically when you use our platform, and information we receive from third parties. The categories and specific data points are described below.

Gender

Profile photograph(s)

Password (stored in encrypted form; we do not have access to your plaintext password)

(b) Faith and Profile Information

The following information is collected to power matching, community features, and the overall TheWell-App experience. All faith-specific fields are voluntary unless otherwise indicated:

Christian denomination (voluntary)

Billing name and billing address are collected for subscription purposes

The last four digits of your payment card may be retained for your reference

Full payment card numbers, CVV/security codes, and complete card data are never stored by TheWell-App. All full card data is processed exclusively by our third-party payment processors (including, as applicable, Stripe, Apple Pay, and Google Pay), who maintain their own security certifications and privacy policies

In limited circumstances, we receive certain information from trusted third-party sources:

Social login providers (such as Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In): If you choose to register or log in using these services, we receive only your name and email address. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google account password.

Payment processors (such as Stripe, Apple Pay, and Google Pay): We receive transaction confirmation data (e.g., whether a payment succeeded or failed) but do not receive your full card number or sensitive payment credentials.

Analytics providers: We receive aggregated and anonymized usage insights to help us understand platform performance. Raw individual-level data from third-party analytics tools is not shared back to us in personally identifiable form.

Apple App Store and Google Play Store: We receive information related to app downloads, updates, in-app purchase confirmations, and subscription management as provided by these platforms in the ordinary course of app distribution.

1.4 Sensitive Personal Information

We want to be explicit about what we consider sensitive and how we handle it:

Religious beliefs and faith practices are explicitly recognized by TheWell-App as sensitive personal information, consistent with their treatment under applicable U.S. and international privacy frameworks.

Romantic and relationship preference data — including your stated relationship goals, matching preferences, and personal values — is treated with the same heightened level of protection as religious data.

Disclosure of denomination or specific doctrinal beliefs is entirely voluntary. No user is required to provide this information to access core platform features.

We do not sell sensitive personal information to any third party under any circumstances.

We do not share faith or relationship data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing platforms.

We do not use sensitive personal information to make automated decisions about users that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Access to sensitive personal data within our organization is restricted on a strict need-to-know basis and subject to additional internal access controls.

We may disclose personal information to law enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, or other governmental authorities when required by a valid legal process (such as a subpoena, court order, or search warrant), or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law

We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of TheWell-App, our users, or the general public — for example, in connection with the investigation of fraud, harassment, or safety threats

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event that TheWell-App is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, reorganization, or other corporate transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. In any such event, we will provide affected users with prior notice via email or in-app notification and will give users the opportunity to delete their accounts and associated personal data before the transfer becomes effective where practicable.

Certain data may be retained beyond your deletion request as required by applicable law, for the resolution of pending disputes, or to enforce our agreements — we will inform you of any such retained data at the time of processing your request

SECTION 6 — COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Like most digital platforms, TheWell-App uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, remember your preferences, and understand how users interact with our service.

Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are required for the platform to function. They enable core services such as user authentication, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of these cookies and continue to use the platform.

Functional Cookies: These cookies remember your preferences and settings (such as notification preferences and language settings) to provide a more personalized experience.

What we do not use: We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or any cookies that enable cross-site behavioral advertising or data brokerage profiling.

Managing cookies: You may manage or disable non-essential cookies through your web browser's settings. Please note that disabling functional or analytics cookies may affect your experience of certain features. On mobile devices, you may also manage certain tracking identifiers through your device's operating system privacy settings.

Do Not Track: Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals to websites. At this time, TheWell-App does not respond to Do Not Track signals due to a lack of established industry standards for their implementation. We will review and update this position as standards evolve.

SECTION 7 — CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

TheWell-App is a dating and relationship platform intended exclusively for adults. Our services are not directed to or intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from any individual under the age of 18

During registration, users are required to confirm that they are at least 18 years of age

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a user who is under 18, we will promptly delete that information from our systems

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has created an account or submitted personal information through TheWell-App, please contact us immediately at thewellapp80@gmail.com. We will investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion of the minor's account and associated data, as quickly as practicable

SECTION 8 — DATA SECURITY

Protecting your personal information — particularly the sensitive faith and relationship data you share on our platform — is one of our highest operational priorities. We employ a range of technical, organizational, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Technical safeguards include:

Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected using Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption

Encryption at rest: All personal data stored in our systems is encrypted using AES-256 encryption

Heightened access controls for sensitive data: Faith profile data, relationship preference data, and other sensitive personal information are subject to additional access restrictions within our systems

Regular security assessments: We conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses in our systems

Employee access controls: Access to personal data by our employees and contractors is limited to those who require it to perform their job functions, and is governed by strict internal access policies and confidentiality obligations

Incident response: We maintain a documented incident response plan. In the event of a data security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the incident where notification is required by applicable law, including Michigan's Identity Theft Protection Act. Notification will include a description of the incident, the nature of the data involved, and steps we are taking to address it.

Important limitation: No digital system or network transmission is completely immune from security risks. While we work diligently to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your TheWell-App account, enable two-factor authentication if offered, and report any suspicious activity on your account to our support team immediately at thewellapp80@gmail.com.

SECTION 9 — THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND INTEGRATIONS

The TheWell-App platform may from time to time contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, church websites, ministry resources, partner organization pages, or other external content. These links are provided for informational or community purposes only.

TheWell-App does not operate, control, or endorse the content, privacy practices, or security measures of any third-party website or service

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information you provide to or that is collected by third-party websites or services

We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website or service before submitting personal information to them

The inclusion of a link to a third-party website on our platform does not constitute an endorsement of that website's privacy practices or any other practices

SECTION 10 — IN-PERSON EVENTS AND PRIVACY

TheWell-App organizes in-person community events, social gatherings, and faith-based meetups for our users. Attending these events involves certain privacy considerations that are specific to the in-person context and that we want to make clear in advance.

10.1 Attendee Data and Logistics

Your name and event registration confirmation may be shared with the event venue, venue staff, and TheWell-App event coordinators on a strict need-to-know basis for the purpose of managing attendance and event logistics

This limited sharing is subject to confidentiality obligations imposed on venue partners and event staff

10.2 Photography and Video

Photographs or video footage taken at TheWell-App events may be used for marketing, community-building, or promotional purposes only with prior opt-in consent obtained at or before registration, or upon clear and conspicuous posted opt-out notice displayed at the venue entry before the event begins

If you do not wish to appear in event photography or video, you must notify TheWell-App event staff in writing (including by email or written notice submitted to event staff at the door) before the event begins. We will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests.

We cannot guarantee that you will not appear in photographs taken by other attendees using their own personal devices. This policy applies only to photography conducted by or on behalf of TheWell-App.

10.3 Health, Dietary, and Accessibility Data

Any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or accessibility accommodation requests you submit for an event are collected solely for the purpose of fulfilling those accommodations at the specific event

This information is not added to your permanent profile, is not shared with other attendees, and will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days after the conclusion of the event

10.4 Emergency Contacts

Emergency contact information you optionally provide for an event is used solely in the event of a genuine medical or safety emergency affecting you during the event

Emergency contact information is not shared with other attendees or used for any other purpose

10.5 Venue Partner Obligations

All venue partners and third-party event contractors who receive attendee data are contractually required to maintain the confidentiality of that information and to use it solely for the purpose of supporting the specific TheWell-App event

Venue partners may maintain their own privacy policies with respect to data collected directly by them in their capacity as operators of the venue

SECTION 11 — PUSH NOTIFICATIONS AND IN-APP MESSAGING

11.1 Push Notifications

With your permission, TheWell-App may send push notifications to your mobile device to alert you of new matches, incoming messages, event reminders, platform updates, and other relevant activity

Permission to send push notifications is requested through your device's operating system when you first launch the app

You may adjust or revoke push notification permissions at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Notifications > TheWell-App; Android: Settings > Apps > TheWell-App > Notifications)

Disabling push notifications will not affect your ability to use the platform or access messages within the app

11.2 In-App Direct Messaging

Direct messages sent between users through the TheWell-App messaging system are intended for private communication between you and your conversation partner(s)

In-app messages are accessible to TheWell-App for the purposes of safety moderation and enforcement of our Terms and Conditions. Specifically, message content may be reviewed by TheWell-App staff or automated systems in response to a reported abuse, harassment, or safety complaint

We do not proactively review or monitor all private messages; review occurs only in response to reported incidents or legally required disclosures

Users who wish to report a message for abuse, harassment, or inappropriate content may do so using the in-app reporting tools available within each conversation

SECTION 12 — CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable law, platform features, or other relevant developments. We are committed to being transparent about any such changes.

When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy — that is, changes that significantly affect how we collect, use, or share your personal information — we will provide you with at least 14 days' advance notice before the updated policy takes effect

Notice of material changes will be delivered via email to the address associated with your account and/or via a prominent in-app notification

The Effective Date at the top of this document will be updated to reflect the date on which any revised policy takes effect

For non-material changes (such as clarifications of existing practices, corrections of typographical errors, or updates to contact information), we may post the updated policy without advance notice, but the Effective Date will be updated accordingly

Your continued use of TheWell-App after the revised Privacy Policy's Effective Date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the platform and may request deletion of your account as described in Section 5.3

Prior versions of this Privacy Policy will be made available upon request by contacting thewellapp80@gmail.com
